Wagner now have a large range of moisture detection equipment.

The MMC205, MMC210MMC220MMI 1100, L606, L607, L610 and L609 hand meters are designed for the small to medium sized business. The L601-3 and , L612 industrial hand meters are ideal for the more heavy duty environment. Custom built In-Line systems are in use in many large processing plants around the world.

WHY DO WE NEED TO MEASURE MOISTURE ?

In a survey carried out by a major Wood Technology Institute in the States it was estimated that 75% of all problems investigated were due to incorrect Moisture Content.

Incorrect Moisture Content(MC) affects every aspect of wood processing giving rise to;

  • Shrinkage and swelling
  • Cupping and Warping
  • Poor sanding / planing quality
  • Loose joints
  • De-lamination. Bond strength of most glues is reduced by 50% if there is more than a 4% difference in MC between pieces.
  • Poor surface finishes

When you consider all of these factors, which run right through the production process from Raw Material to Finished Product, it is not surprising that the majority of problems can be traced back to MC Issues.

Our Moisture meters are supplied by Wagner Electronics the worlds leading producer of moisture control systems. Wagner Electronics are based in Oregon in the USA. They have over 30 years experience in the moisture detection industry and designed some of the first electromagnetic wave sensing moisture detectors.

  • they fulfill the real needs of MC control

  • they are more accurate in industrial conditions than resistance meters

  • the meters will not damage the timber

  • they are quick and easy to use
