The Wagner L722 "Stack Probing" sensor

"It used to take three people thirty minutes... Now we use the Wagner L612 / L722, and one guy can check the whole load in two or three minutes."
Wagner L712 Stack Probing SensorThe Model L722 Stack-Probing Sensor coupled with the L612 Digital Recording Moisture Meter makes it easy to reach deep into stickered units of wood and take accurate moisture readings without the danger of broken pins. Wagner's "Wood-Friendly" electro-magnetic wave technology makes it possible to take multiple readings throughout an entire stack in just minutes.

Once the probe is inserted between the boards, you simply squeeze the handle that activates cams at the end of the probe. The cams press the end-mounted sensor flat against the wood and ensure deep penetration of the electromagnetic waves. You then slide the probe slowly out of the stack, reading the moisture in each board as the detector passes over it. Virtually unaffected by surface moisture or temperature, the L722 gives consistent and reliable readings in or out of kilns.  The Wagner L722 is often used to ensure that the End Point and the Standard Deviation of a kiln load is acceptable before kiln shut-down.

With three lengths to choose from, (101, 66 and 30cm probe reach) we have the right probe for you.  The L722 can operate with sticker thicknesses from 13mm to 32mm.
