WAGNER
IN-LINE SYSTEMS
The
Need for Moisture Measurement and Control.
It has been estimated that the direct source of 75% of all problems
encountered in the industry is incorrect Moisture Content for the job
in hand. This applies to kiln operation, sawing dimensions, gluing,
planing, finishing and all facets of the timber process.
With the information gained from the measurement of every piece of timber
you can;
- Reject
material that is outwith your MC Spec.
- Minimize
waste
- Determine
the most efficient kiln cycles
- Control
suppliers
- Document
quality assurance
The NEED
for and the BENEFITS of Moisture Control are undoubted.
The
Aim of Moisture Control
The real aim of moisture control in 99% of cases is to ensure that
the small proportion of boards that fall outwith your acceptable MC
range are rejected from your production line BEFORE they become a production
/ quality problem.
This need
to eliminate the rogue pieces or the "rotten apple" means that you have
to measure as many pieces as possible as accurately as possible without slowing the production
process.
A low level of random sampling IS NOT sufficient to meet this need.
Speed
of measurement
With Wagner InLine systems taking measurements every 3 milliseconds,
and able to cope with feed speeds up to 2000’/min ( 600m/min), every
single piece of wood can be assessed and a decision made as to its compliance
with your standards with absolutely no effect on the production line.
The
Solution
With the Wagner non-destructive, non-contact, In-Line MC measurement
systems you can measure EVERY board and therefore eliminate problems
due to incorrect MC and maximize your quality and customer loyalty.
WAGNER
has two ranges of In-Line Systems;
The System 100 utilises the sensor capabilities
of the 683iCE systems but has married them in with standard Siemens
PLCs and operator interfaces. It has been designed both in terms
of function and price to allow lower volume users and multiple
raw material input line users to effectively and economically control
MC.
The
Wagner 683iCE systems are the mainstay of the sawmilling industry
grading lines throughout the world and are also widely used in large
volume remanufacturing industries such as window, door, flooring and
laminated beam producers throughout Europe and the United States.
