WM Supplies is the instrument and equipment supply and service division of WMS Consulting Ltd.  WMS Consulting Ltd was started in 1992 initially to provide a marketing consultancy service for companies producing timber processing equipment wishing to enter into the European Market.

Background

Mr Richard Vivers, MD of the company, graduated in 1974 from Aberdeen University with a BSc (Forestry) degree and was employed by Riddoch of Rothiemay Ltd (then the largest sawmilling company in Scotland) for three years before joining Forest Thinnings Ltd, a Harvesting and Marketing Company, as Area Manager for North East Scotland.

In 1979 Richard bought Waterside Sawmill and successfully ran his own sawmilling, harvesting and pallet making company until 1992 when he sold the company and started WMS Consulting Ltd.

Until 1995 Richard and his wife Madeleine worked for Wood-Mizer Inc. establishing a distribution network throughout Europe and finally assisting in the creation of their European Office situated in Poland.  They lived in Poland for 18 months before returning to the UK.  They then worked with Wagner Electronic Products Inc both as distributors in the UK and as marketing consultants for Wagners entry and distribution into Europe.
